Talk about ACDC. Anything goes. I will start off by saying that I'm a new fan, but I really love their music. I'm looking foward to their new CD Black Ice which hits stores Monday. I'm also going to see them in both Atlanta and Nashville.

AC DC rock! I've been a fan for years. Some of the stuff I learned on guitar as a teen ager were AC DC tracks. I already have black ice and it's quite good. You definetly need to check out the albums highway to hell, back in black, live, and for those about to rock. I prefer the Brian Johnson era AC DC because I prefer his voice. But, bon scott sang some of the early AC DC tracks that would become classics. There is a vh1 documentary that is quite good if you can find it, on the history of the band.

I love AC,DC to, straight ahead rock. I didn't like stiff upper lip though. The live disk is awesome and I have a dvd concert to. I have never seen them boy I sure would like to. You would think after well over 110 shows I would have seen them at some point! awesome band!

Cameron, how did you get black ice so soon. Preorder?

Post 5 by faithful angel (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Friday, 17-Oct-2008 13:19:57

And when you check the live album, get the two-disk version. If you want to go see them, go to www.acdc.com and click the tickets button. You can become a fanclub member and gain special access to tickets that don't go to the public, but act fast, because these shows are selling out fast.

all I can say is that I have my sources. and yes, go for the double live album instead of the single disc version.

Oh, OK. Sorry I asked.

ACDC are just a classic rock band. I find their music a bit too monotonous and it lacks the subtlties that I am after most of the time, but their guitar licks are classic and for straight forward rocking there is no better candidate than aC DC. Highway to Hell was excellent, Thunderstruck probably has the coolest guitar riff of all time, arguably, not a huge fan of Black Ice yet, but only listned to it a few times. For the Bit Torrent peopleI think they've probably seen it on some bit torrent site or other, of course I wouldn't know, lol.
Not to steal the topic but since I am posting to a music topic I have to say I finally got the Magnetic Fields, 69 love songs album, if you want to hear some really fun music that's something you got to check out, they're playing Raleigh tomorrow, although I won't go see them.
Cheers

I can sort-of see how and why you would say that although I do not agree myself. It's cool though. I like Black Ice, but my favorite album is back in black. Black ice is a bit.... I don't know how to explain. It's not anything really different. I didn't want ACDC to be different, but I didn't want their black ice album to sound like all their other stuff either. I know. I've just completely contradicted myself. I'm not sure what I'm really trying to say. I expected it to be more hard I guess. I'm not sure. I do like the album for the most part though.

AC-DC are awesome! they're one of my favourite bands in the world! and, (like me), Australian as well....with the exception of Brian, of course, but, i must say that they couldn't have made a better choice of singer, when Bon departed this earth. i have the Black Ice album, and love it! plus the shirt that came with it. i don't kno about anywhere else, but here, we got to choose one of 3 options. the standard copy, one with a book, (wich would have been no use to me, but i still have it anyway), or, the shirt. btw, if anyone in America or Canada have XM, then there's a whole channel devoted to them on there.

Post 11 by faithful angel (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Wednesday, 29-Oct-2008 19:13:35

Yep it's awesome. We got a choice of an album with a booklet. Then there was the one with red or blue cover. Then there were bundles with hats, shirts, magnets, and sometimes hoodies.

Post 12 by maroon five (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Wednesday, 29-Oct-2008 20:04:31

i think we only got shirts, but we can get the rest on line.

Yup, they're awesome.

i just saw these guys last night, and I will say this right now. That was one awesome show! Even the opening act was incredible! Yeah! Wow!!

Omg, I love ac/dc!
I need black Ice so bad, I still dont have it. I know that's very sad..

Post 16 by faithful angel (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Saturday, 07-Feb-2009 22:44:14

I didn't think I was ever going to get my voice back. Seriously guys, you need to check out the opening act's website. The band is called the answer. Their website is www.theanswer.ie, and the website for their new CD is www.everydaydemons.co.uk. Check them out. To me, they, as far as tallent goes, were just as good as ac/dc although they didn't have the stage presence, but that is to be expected. Ac/dc have been doing thing for a while now.

I love ACDC, but I'm personally a much bigger fan of Bon Scott. His voice was better than Brian's, and he wrote the songs that would shape ACDC's fate. I wonder, as i'm sure a lot of people have, if the band would have become stagnant if Bon Scott had lived. Oh, I love his stuff, Big Balls is probably one of the funniest songs I've ever heard, but the subject matter wasn't really changing from album to album. Still, the same can be said for Brian Johnson, I haven't exactly seen him try to expand on different themes either, but it's all good, My favorite album from during his time with ACDC is Back In Black, I love it on vinyl especially. To the person that said Black Ice was disappointing, I disagree. It was what I expected, and I was surprised as hell that Brian still sounds that good after all these years.

I saw acdc live, didn't really want to see them but dad dragged me along and man am i glad i went!! They were really awsome, and thunder were their support act and they were mindblowing live. My favourite of their albums is let their be rock, but i think that's because my dad played it at me endlessly as a kid lol

I love AC/DC!

acdc is one of those bands that simply make you play your electric guitr eve if you don't know how. great band.

Post 21 by guitargod1 (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Saturday, 08-May-2010 19:33:28

haha, yes screaming turtle, big balls is fucking hillarious. Speaking of the coolest band from down under, there is a new set out with two cds and one dvd called backtracks. well, newish. anyways... I just got it recently and it's very interesting. it's got rare studio tracks and live tracks from the bon scott era as well as the brian johnson era. and yes, as someone else stated, it's amazing that brian johnson's voice has held up so well after all these years!

Post 22 by faithful angel (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Wednesday, 09-Jun-2010 16:20:54

Actually there's a bigger box set of that I believe. To the poster who said that Brian can still sing like that after all these years.... um.... he can't. LOL, I saw them live, and if we were going 2 judge the show based on singing ability, Brian would've bombed, but man,.... I won't ever go to another rock show again. I don't want to replace that memory. It was amazing!!

Post 23 by Leafs Fan (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Thursday, 10-Jun-2010 7:45:34

Big Balls! LOL Fucking hilarious. I am jealous of you Faithful Angel for having seen them live! LOL

I saw them three weeks ago at the UK download festival, in front of a hundred thousand fans rocking out. Let me tell you, their stage presence was amazing, the guitarist was scary good, as he managed to keep the crowd going for like a 10 minute solo...and in a rather frosty british june evening, the singer did a strip tease live on stage when singing he's got the jack. lol! they were just bloody amazing. I actually wasn't a fan when I went....I am now in a major way.

One of my faves by them is 'Long Way to the Top if You Want to Rock 'n' Roll'. For a really good performance of this song, watch Jack Black in 'School of Rock' where the class performed the song. I'm a fan of their music; love the video of that song w Bon Scott.

Post 27 by faithful angel (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Sunday, 01-Aug-2010 2:36:42

Wow, 100000 people! That's a huge crowd.:) I'm glad you are now a fan. They're awesome! I'd love to see them again!
